Amanda Marie Jabour and Nicholas Foreman Kowalski were married Saturday at Historic St. Mary's Church in Lancaster, Pa. The Rev. Leo M. Goodman III, a Roman Catholic priest and the church's pastor, performed the ceremony.

Mrs. Kowalski, 27, is an associate in the Washington office of the law firm Paul Hastings. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received a law degree from George Washington University

She is a daughter of Robin A. Jabour and Leon J. Jabour of Lancaster. Her father is the chief information officer of Ephrata Community Hospital in Ephrata, Pa. The bride's mother is a lawyer with a private practice in Lancaster.

Mr. Kowalski, 32, is a state outreach director for the Common Purpose Project, an advocacy organization for progressive policies, in Washington. He is responsible for mobilizing local groups in seven Northeastern states. In 2011, he was the deputy political director of Rahm Emanuel's mayoral campaign in Chicago. He graduated from the University of Washington and received a master's in political management from George Washington.

Mr. Kowalski is the son of Linda L. Foreman, of Snohomish, Wash., and Paul M. Kowalski, of Mukilteo, Wash., and the stepson of Carol R. Kowalski and of Mark R. Keller. The groom's mother is a lawyer with a private practice in Snohomish. His father is a director of financial planning at Windrose Wealth Management in Kirkland, Wash.
