Disease 'gout' scientifically called 'gout' which includes one type of arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis), which means inflammation of joints caused by the buildup of uric acid salt crystals in the joints. Uric acid is a compound produced from the metabolism in the body that came from purines that are part of the protein. These compounds are naturally going to actually dissolved in the blood and into the kidneys & excreted through urine. In those with gout, increased levels of uric acid in the blood (hiperurisemi), and uric acid accumulate in various body tissues, especially in the joints & a sharp-shaped crystals that cause pain & swelling in joints. Uric acid crystals can also accumulate in the urethra, causing urinary tract stones that can block the urinary tract and could eventually damage the kidneys.
Increased blood uric acid levels due to:
- Reduced disposal by the kidneys, such as kidney failure or use of diuretic drugs (which make the urine more often)
- Production of excess in the body, such as blood diseases, obesity, hereditary (hereditary), or largely due to unknown reasons
- Intake of foods rich in purine excess, such as organ meats, broths, several species of fish (eg sardines), mushrooms, asparagus, fermented foods, melinjo, and so on.
Gout occurs more frequently in men & above 30 years, but can occur at younger ages are usually due to inherited from previous generations. Gout is also easier to attack those who are overweight, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol levels, diabetes diseased, or drinkers of alcoholic beverages. Women more prone to gout when it has reached menopause.
Increased uric acid levels in the blood is often without symptoms. Most people know it when performing laboratory tests for levels in the blood. Blood uric acid levels are elevated can cause 'gout attacks'. Symptoms of gout attacks that occurred in the joints is happening all of a sudden, very painful, usually at night, & most commonly affects joints in the big toe joints but can strike anywhere. Affected joints appear swollen, red, hot, & increased pain when touched.
